 another pair of custom shades were made using 18thc vellum manuscripts for front and back panels. the ends were covered in homespun and French metallic braid was used.

needlepoint was placed on front panel and complimentary linen print covered three sides. linen welting and double soutache. sold

this is a nice way to put needlework to use!
there are many more shades to put on this page. my computer is critically ill and i am working against the clock. it is scheduled for mother-board replacement early next week and i am told this process will take two-three weeks. modern technology does have its inconveniences but it keeps me challenged!
I made these shades as Easter gifts for two of my grands. Their excitement brought me great pleasure!

  a lovely natural, nubby linen covers this small shielf shade...perfect for sconce or candlestick lamp. the trim is French metallic. there are 2 pairs of these shades. $90/pair this shot shows the reverse side of the small shield. note that a narrow gold trim finishes off the back.
