This base is most effective when used for figurines. At present I have it in our home with a majolica teapot and creamer shown to their best. You are limited only by your imagination! |

I make custom hard-backed shades. It is a very simple process: you provide me with fabric and tell me the size shade needed. I do the rest! Send me an email, give me a phone call, whichever is easier for you. We can discuss shade shape & size, lamp shape & size, costs, etc
. |

I made this shade
to enhance the carved french lamp. This shade tends to bring out the
color in the Currier & Ives print as well as complementing the fruit.Shade

After Using a custom shield shade adds umph to the trench art lamp and allows light to be directed to the oil painting in the bookcase. |
This toile shade measures 3" x 5.5" x 6". in the pictures below you can see how a specific shade adds character to the lamp. $35

I made these
shades for my Easter gift to these two granddaughters. Drew's pink paw
print is decorated with covered buttons. Katie's pink/green shade has double
whelting. |

The focal
point of these custom shield shades is a piece removed from vintage
French religious vestments. Background is linen; trim is French metallic.
|
This pair of
custom shield shades are covered in antique Fortuny fabric and
trimmed with French metallic trim. |
Paw print shade is trimmed in solid blue and hilited with black soutache. Clip-on style shade measures 4x9x7, $30

Currently
I am remaking a pair of very old shades made of vellum manuscripts.
|
Each shade was
made to two pieces of vellum. Here, one piece of vellum is being prepared
for its new life. |
Here are two
pics of the new shades. Customer selected some lovely linen for the ends
of the shade. |
Old French metalic
trim ties the vellum and linen together. Black accents provided transition. |
My daughter, Elizabeth,
and I are offering shade making classes. Our favorite class seeme to
be the 3 hour class where we make night-lights.
In order to complete a lamp shade, we need to allow for a 5 hour session. In order to provide personal attention, we limit class size to eight students. |
|||
Three hours,
a willing spirit, interesting |
new acquaintances, a glass of wine, & | everyone can create a nite-lite | |
|
|
. You will leave ready to light up the night! |
After a class you will find many ways to utilize your newly honed skills! |

This shade was
made by color-copying a photograph. Please forgive my poor photography...i
was unable to eliminate the glare. |
Here the light
is turned on and anyone would have a smile when they view this dear scene,
"cousins and their animals." |
